The original Abilene, TX airport was located where the Abilene Zoo and County Coliseum now sit. In this picture lifted from http://members.tripod.com/airfields_freeman/TX/Airfields_TX_Abilene_E.htm, you can see at least three runways: one is the main road into the zoo running north and south; the second is the road in the zoo area that runs diagonally between the ball fields and the lake, the bottom end of which crosses the highway into the Coliseum grounds and T-bones into the third.   (1/3)
